Behavior Modification & Pet Dog Trainer
Hi! I’m Mirabel. Get to know me!
I always wanted a career involving animals but took a different route first. I earned a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology and worked with special needs children for five years. I began my journey in dog training when I sought help for one of her dogs concerning anxiety and reactivity. I fell in love with the training process and wanted to learn as much as I could. Because I was passionate about helping others who struggled with their dogs, I left a stable career during the worldwide pandemic to start over in a brand-new industry.
My background in speech pathology provides understanding and necessary skills for dog psychology and creative problem solving in dog training. I also understand the client’s perspective because I was a client once myself!.
I completed a hands-on shadow program for nine months in Arizona, specializing in behavior modification, basic obedience, and advanced skills. I excelled during the program and even took on many aspects of the business including creating educational resources for clients, and teaching new employees the fundamentals of training dogs.
I continue to pursue continuing education each year, attending different seminars and shadow programs led by some of the industry’s most experienced and renowned trainers. My latest endeavor includes working towards my canine nutrition certificate in an effort to better approach each dog holistically.
I have been part of the K9 Summit team since August 2022. Since then, I have helped with countless clients, wrote articles for our online blog, created several guidebooks as resources for owners, and continue to do all that I can to help dogs and their families.
I am beyond blessed and honored to have a career that enables me to bring a little more peace into someone’s home. My career is more than just a job. I take the responsibility of working with someone’s beloved family member so seriously. I’m so grateful that I get to play a small part in an owner’s story.
