Pet & Behavior Mod. Trainer
Hey guys, I’m Meadow!
Here’s a little look into my life as a dog trainer;
At a young age I was known as the dog lover. I’d “adopt” stuffed dogs and have a special sleeping schedule with every single one of them to make sure no one got left out. I would even go to the extent of adopting the ones that were damaged and most people wouldn’t want… I thought they were just “unique in their own way”!
My love for stuffed animals had brought me into my love for horse back riding and training horses. I had trained many and competed with a few before I had fallen off too many times and decided I would look into training with a smaller animal. Luckily I had found a school not too far away in North Carolina and had signed up for their Master Dog Training Program.
Highland Canine School for Dog trainers was a significant turning point in my training career. It had taught me a lifetime amount of skills with every aspect of dog training. At HK9, I entered into the program where I graduated at the top of my class with the highest overall score in the area of Police K9 Training. I was also one of the few that were offered to be a member of the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society.
Highland Canine School For Dog Trainers not only began to shape me into the trainer I am today but I was blessed to leave with a special someone. I guess you could say I found my very own “unique in their own way” kind of dog.
On the euthanasia table a mislabeled “aggressive” and “too much to handle” 4 year old German Shepherd sat lacking an owner that understood her. Since that day, I have had such empathy for those with reactive and “scary” looking dogs who just need to be understood and trained with the proper knowledge. I have seen countless owners become confident with their dogs that they had once mislabeled themselves and nothing can be more rewarding than that.
I have been enjoying my beautiful career of being a dog trainer and each year I have made it a priority to do some form of continuing education whether that be a conference or seminar.
I have trained dogs of all shapes and sizes for basic obedience, off leash obedience, reactivity, and even service dog training. I enjoy every step of our sessions including connecting with you and making sure you can be independent with your dog when it comes down to it.
I am excited to be able to offer virtual training as well as private lessons in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
